Key Characteristics

• Excellent oxidation resistance up to 1093°C (2000°F) in air and many industrial atmospheres
• Good resistance to carburization and nitriding environments
• Strong resistance to chloride-ion stress corrosion cracking (SCC)
• Good resistance to caustic alkalis and many organic/inorganic acids
• High nickel content provides resistance to reducing media and high-purity water corrosion
• Good fabrication and welding performance for demanding service equipment

Fabrication & Welding

INCONEL 600 can be fabricated and welded using standard nickel-alloy practices.
Common welding methods include:

• GTAW (TIG)
• GMAW (MIG)
• SMAW

Matching filler metals such as ERNiCr-3 are typically recommended.
